I bought it from eBay by mistake(my MacBook air is 2011 model)
This charger is only for new generation MacBook air and the new macbook pro with retina screen.
Note: this is a MagSafe 2 so will not work with MacBook Airs bought over a couple of weeks ago or the old MacBook Pros as they have a slightly different connector. (You can buy a converter though)
